Changing Seasons
One of the things which attracts us to the Ranch is the change of seasons.
At our home in Mesa, we get warm weather through much of the year, with very mild winters. On the Ranch, we get cool weather through much of the year, with mild summers. The spring season and fall season is much extended from that which we observe in Mesa.
These pages have some pictures of the Ranch and surrounding areas at various times of the year.

Winter at the Juniper Valley Ranch brings cold (for some of us) nights and mild days. The wind is pretty chilly, so we tend to look for windbreaks at this time of year. Snow is common, but it usually melts within a couple of days.

Spring is a time of growth at the Ranch. Cactus and wildflowers are blooming. The days are warming up, but are not hot yet. There may be some rain, but Spring is generally dry at the Ranch.

Summer: Summer Posts

Summer is the season with the most variety at Juniper Valley Ranch. Starting out dry and warm, it changes first to hot and dry in the daytime with cool nights. Later, the nights are warmer, but the daily cloud cover of the thunderstorms in the area cool things during the day. Humidity increases during the thunderstorm monsoon season. Finally, after the monsoons have passed, we go through a period of hot daytime temperatures and cool nights.

Fall: Fall Posts

Fall brings cold nights and warm days once again. The crisp morings are a really nice time to sit out and soak up the warmth of the sun. Later in the afternoon, you will be shedding layers to keep comfortable.
