Ceiling Insulation for the LittleHouse

by on Jun.02, 2020, under Insulation

Wow, it’s been a while since we’ve done any work at the ranch (other than normal maintenance, such as battery maintenance…)

Now that we have finished remodeling the house down in Mesa, we have the time and resources to begin work again at the ranch. We hired a few professionals from Expert Roofing Services from RoofScapes to help us with the industrial insulation for our roofing. The first major project to start back up is finishing the insulation inside of the LittleHouse with the help of insulation services. While some tools are used for life each day, other tools are used for specific projects that need to be done like this residential spray foam insulation. Lawn care workers use leaf blowers, lawnmowers and other similar tools to ensure that a lawn looks great. A chainsaw is a tool that can cut branches and trees on a property after a storm. Another type of tool that can be used for a specific project is a pump. A water, air or gas pump can serve a number of functions for people in a home or business and depending on your needs, you may even need high caliber pumps, so consider taking a look at some other industrial pumps for sale.

We started work on the ceiling insulation in April, and continued in May. If you are planning on going through the same process, consider using these Cleanable Ceiling Tiles for a great end result.

Plumbing Maintenance

by on Oct.26, 2018, under Plumbing

Selfie at the Ranch

Tara & I made a trip up last fall (Oct 2017).  While we were there, we noticed that when the outside faucets were turned on, they leaked from various places, we had to hire plumber services immediately so they could do some drain cleaning  with the help of professional drainage contractors and we also had to fix up the pipes that needed a repair. Depending on the  problem plumbing can be really easy to fix up any residential plumbing problems you may have.

Just make sure your plumber knows what they are doing when installing hydro jettingbecause you don´t want to end up causing a bigger problem, that´s why it is better to hire professional plumbers to get our bathroom renovation done. If you need more information on how to start a bathroom renovation, get it from here.

  • Excessive Water Usage – A septic system designed too small for the house it serves or too small for the water generated from the house, getting a new system from residential plumbing is the best idea. If sludge or scum is allowed to escape out of the septic tank and enter the drainfield, the pipe, rock, or sand may become clogged, so consider getting dewatering pumps. If this happens the liquid will not be absorbed into the sand. This common problem is caused by a failure to have the septic tank regularly pumped out, so contact an emergency plumber for assistance. It is also important to note that, over the normal operating life of a septic system, this clogging will naturally occur and can eventually degrade a system. Again, regular pump outs every year after your septic tank installation are the best preventative service that can be performed with the help of a professional septic service.
  • High Water Table and Septic System Failures – According to a plumber, during wet or abnormally wet seasons, groundwater may rise into a drainfield and force sewage to the surface. This is caused by an error in design or sometimes by a significant change in the surrounding landscape, so make sure to contact a commercial plumbing service if you believe your system is failing.

Screen Door Repair and Other Maintenance

by on Jan.18, 2017, under Insulation, Plumbing, Ranch Maintenance

Sometime last year, the mice or birds chewed a hole through the screen on our screen door.  We brought up some new screen and spline from Metroplex Windows & Glass to make a repairs.

We started by removing the screen door from the frame.  This involved adjusting the rollers on the bottom of the door for as little pressure as possible, the prying the door up and over the bumps which the rollers run on.  We set the screen onto our floor to work on it. We started by locating the end of the spline, and pulling it out of the channel to release the screen material. Replacing a door can be very complicated so it is much more easier to hire a Storefront Door Installation service for professional help, but if you are going to be doing repairs yourself, then make sure to stop by the hardware store to get the right tools and materials, like Flat washers to have a successful repair.

Gas Lines for the LittleHouse

by on Jan.18, 2017, under Gas Appliances

We came up in late October to run some propane lines into the LittleHouse.  These are to feed a wall-mounted, direct-vent propane heater,  gas water heater, oven/stove, and possibly refrigerator, to keep our gas full we will be constantly getting tanks for a propane gas delivery service so you can get a propane tank installation. For those who are worried that their new ranch homes have a gas leak, consider getting radon mitigation fishers to always be sure you are safe. And for those looking for a total Water Heater System Repair, get it at an affordable price.

The house heater will be mounted on the North wall, near the northwest corner of the house, after we get a heater repair done.  We hope to have solar radiant heating run under the floor throughout the house, but the propane will be our backup heating system. If you ever need repairs done to your heating system, then you should contact this burner service for a proper heating repair.

The other appliances are all located in the kitchen area, along the north wall of the kitchen. Thanks to deep kitchen cleaning service in London we had everything organized at the end of the day.

We started out by installing a manifold in the Northeast corner or the house.  There are two 6″ black pipe nipples installed on the back, along with two plugs on the unused ports on the back, and one plug on the unused port on the side.  We also installed a gas valve at the inlet to the manifold. This is where the propane tank will tie in.  From there, we have one line run to the direct-vent heater location, and a second line running to the kitchen, for now, this is the process we’ve made but may need to get a bigger heating installation later on.

January 2016 Visit

by on Jan.31, 2016, under Electrical, Security

We’re doing some remodelling down in the valley, so I needed to come up and borrow some of my tools that I had stored at the Ranch.  Since I was making the trip, I used this time to upgrade one of the security cameras to provide a much more secure

home security system for when motion was detected.  With the old camera, I had a hard time distinguishing who had been captured by the camera, because the photos were of such low resolution.  The new camera takes much clearer pictures, and when I view them at full resolution, I can zoom in to see minute details.
